PIXELS Academy equipment protection

Clear responsibility protects every Pixel’s opportunity.

Rental gear is shared educational equipment. These rules keep it available, working, and affordable for the next student.

Request a take-home kit
Match the kit

Tony confirms the student’s class, experience, and equipment needs before assigning a serialized kit.

Secure the rental

The guardian signs the agreement, pays the stated refundable deposit, and places a valid card on file with the payment processor.

Inspect together

Guardian and Academy document the body, lens, accessories, serial numbers, condition, and replacement value at checkout.

Return and close

The kit is inspected at return. An eligible deposit is refunded after equipment, accessories, fees, and condition are reconciled.

Take-home requirements

Deposit and card on file

The refundable deposit is listed in the itemized rental agreement and is based on the assigned kit’s replacement value. A standard student kit is expected to require a $250 deposit; higher-value kits may require more.

The card on file is tokenized and retained by the payment processor—not stored as a card number in the LENS or PIXELS Academy database. The guardian authorizes only the charges described in the signed agreement, with notice and an itemized record.

Guardian responsibilities

  • Keep the kit secure, dry, clean, and under responsible supervision.
  • Do not lend, sell, pawn, modify, repair, or take the equipment outside the agreed area.
  • Report loss, theft, impact, water exposure, or malfunction immediately.
  • Return every serialized item and accessory on time for inspection.
  • Pay documented late fees, cleaning, repair, or replacement charges not covered by the deposit.

Normal use

Ordinary wear documented during normal educational use does not create a damage charge.

Damage or missing items

PIXELS Academy documents the condition, obtains a reasonable repair or replacement cost, applies the deposit first, and provides an itemized balance before an authorized card charge.

Deposit return

The remaining eligible deposit is returned after the kit is checked in and all equipment, fees, repairs, and replacement costs are resolved. The signed agreement will state the expected processing timeline.
